Qualifications:
Must be a University of Toronto student with a strong service orientation, good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively and tactfully (in person and on the phone) with the public and other staff. Must have the physical ability to shelve books, lift boxes of books, and push book trucks. Previous experience with the Library of Congress Classification system, and with customer service, is an asset. Keyboarding and basic equipment troubleshooting skills (photocopiers, scanners, printers, audio-visual equipment, computers) is required. Demonstrated good work performance, attention to detail, attendance, and punctuality are required.

Duties:
Assists patrons at the Service Desk: checking materials in and out, processing fines, placing holds, enforcing Library policies (such as food and drink), basic troubleshooting of Library equipment, assisting patrons in locating materials, answering basic information questions (such as library catalogue searches). Responsible for shelving materials, shelf reading, shifting collections. Special project work (as assigned) such as: data entry, processing and packing Library materials for transfer/shipping, checking lists of Library materials against current holdings.

Hours per Week:Weekday, evening, and Saturday shifts available, especially: Mon-Thurs 4pm-7pm, Fri 3pm-6pm, Sat 12pm-5pm. Minimum 1 shift per week, maximum 24 hrs per week.

Hourly Rate:$16.98, $17.49, $18.19, $18.86, $19.57
