  4. Qualifications:

    University of Toronto student. Strong service orientation. Communication in English essential, both oral and written. Must be able to shelve books, push library carts, and to communicate effectively and tactfully with the public and with other staff. The physical demands of this position requires a considerable amount of walking and standing on a daily basis. Must have the ability to lift and carry large volumes of material from location to location. Attention to detail and accuracy essential. Must demonstrate good work performance: attendance and punctuality required.

  5. Duties:

    Daily shelving of books, also shelf-reading and shifting. Searching for materials for patrons and assisting in maintaining stack floors. Must be able to enforce no food policy. May also include preparing materials for move to storage including selecting, sorting, barcoding and packing. May involve working in areas with considerable dust. Other duties as required such as tidying stack floors and shelves, monitoring carrels, providing information and assistance to library patrons, charging and discharging books.

  6. Hours per Week:
    Sunday to Saturday. Shift work (days, evenings and weekends). Maximum 24 hours per week.
  7. Hourly Rate:
    $16.98, $17.49, $18.19, $18.86, $19.57
