  4. Qualifications:

    University of Toronto Graduate student with a background or demonstrated interest in Tamil literature, French literature, rare books, and special collections. Familiarity with bibliographical databases (including the U of T Library Catalogue) and the internet using advanced searching techniques. Ability to do detailed work with speed and accuracy with minimal supervision. Demonstrated good attendance and work performance record. Technical skills including word processing, database and spreadsheets, in particular advanced Excel skills.

    Other: Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks within stated guidelines and deadlines. Strong communication and organizational skills. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential. Tact, responsibility, and discretion.

  5. Duties:

    Under supervision of the librarian-in-charge, will assist in processing a private library donation, including matching items to holdings and barcode application. Also, sorts and prepares materials to be sent off-site. Other duties as assigned.

    Please note that during the pandemic, the University continues to monitor public health guidelines as they relate to libraries and work closely with the University’s Environmental Health and Safety Office and other campus officials. As such, hours cannot be guaranteed if public health and university health and safety guidelines limit access to libraries and buildings.

  6. Hours per Week:
    Up to 10 hours a week, with a possibility of increase up to 24-30 hours a week.
  7. Hourly Rate:
    $26.53, $27.32
