Qualifications:
University of Toronto student. Strong service orientation. At least one session of relevant library experience preferred. Demonstrated good attendance, punctuality and work performance record. Good reading knowledge of Chinese. Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with the public and work well with other staff. Flexibility with regard to scheduling necessary. Good communication skills in English and Cantonese.

Duties:
Under supervision, performs public service desk duties which may include circulating, renewing materials, placing holds, enforcing entrance and exit regulations. Performs shelving, shifting and stack maintenance duties. Assists patrons in locating and checking the availability of materials, answers basic information questions where appropriate. Tidying and area maintenance. Other related or special duties/projects may also be assigned.
Required to work on-site (St. George campus).
Please note that during the pandemic, the University continues to monitor public health guidelines as they relate to libraries and work closely with the University’s Environmental Health and Safety Office and other campus officials.
As such, hours cannot be guaranteed if public health and university health and safety guidelines limit access to libraries and buildings.

Hours per Week:Shift work for Saturday and evenings are required. Maximum 24 hours per week.
