Qualifications:
University of Toronto graduate student with demonstrated experience with R and Shiny app development, as well as working with data sources through APIs. Interest and/or experience in user interface design and data visualization is an asset. Familiarity with census data and/or other Statistics Canada data. Familiarity with historical and/or quantitative research methods in the humanities and social sciences. Strong oral and written English communications skills. Knowledge of French would be an asset. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and part of a team.

Duties:
Develop an R/Shiny app which accesses a database of metadata about historical Canadian census publications, and presents the results in a user-friendly way.
Please note that during the pandemic, the University continues to monitor public health guidelines as they relate to libraries and work closely with the University’s Environmental Health and Safety Office and other campus officials. As such, hours cannot be guaranteed if public health and university health and safety guidelines limit access to libraries and buildings.

Hours per Week:10-20. Note: this position may be extended into the summer semester.
