  4. Qualifications:

    University of Toronto student with knowledge of maps and other cartographic material, and an interest in history or historical mapping/GIS. Ability to work with spreadsheet software such as Excel. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail essential. Demonstrated good attendance and performance record. Good oral English communication skills and technical writing skills. Proven ability to work effectively with others. Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including digitizing and georeferencing, would be an asset.

  5. Duties:

    Assists with a project to process and move the MDL physical collection of atlases, gazetteers, and other print materials. Must be able to move large volumes of materials, to lift boxes, push heavy book trucks, shelve materials, file maps, and tolerate dust. May also assist staff in processing cartographic and related materials, including GIS and other data. May assist with special GIS projects. Prepares data and other materials for transfer, conversion, upload, storage, etc., including paper map processing, scanning and digitization. Other related duties as assigned.
    Note: A successful applicant will be required to work in-person (on campus).
