  4. Qualifications:

    University of Toronto student. Strong service orientation. Previous experience in circulation services and customer service are assets. At least one session of relevant library experience preferred. Demonstrated good attendance, punctuality and work performance record. Reading knowledge of one or more East Asian Languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean and/or Tibetan preferred. Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with the public and work well with other staff. Flexibility with regard to scheduling necessary. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  5. Duties:

    Under general supervision, perform public service desk duties including circulating, renewing materials, placing holds, enforcing entrance and exit regulations. Perform shelving, shifting and stack maintenance duties. Assist patrons in locating and checking the availability of materials, answer basic information questions, refer questions to the appropriate area and support the use of microtext reader/printer and copying machine where appropriate. Tidying and area maintenance. Perform collection preservation and maintenance activities such as: tattle taping, bar-coding, replacing item numbers, editing item information, property stamping of collection and other assignments to support services and operations whenever necessary. Assist in material preparation and record maintenance activities for acquisition, collection development and bibliographic processing support duties, current serials, newspapers, gifts and exchange operations, and processing materials for Downsview. Other related or special duties/projects may also be assigned.

    Required to work on-site (St. George campus).

  6. Hours per Week:
    Shift work for Saturday and evenings are required. Maximum 24 hours per week.
  7. Hourly Rate:
    $20.06, $20.87, $21.64, $22.46
