  4. Qualifications:

    Required:

    Current University of Toronto graduate student

    A strong service orientation

    Interest in or experience with instruction and/or peer learning opportunities

    Experience with makerspace technologies such as 3D printing, 3D design, and/or scanning

    Proficiency with 3D modelling software and apps such as Tinkercad, Blender, Fusion 360

    Proficiency with photography and image editing/processing

    Highly motivated and adaptable with a strong willingness to learn

    Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

    Good work performance and attendance record

    Desired:

    Proficiency with Python programming language

    Previous experience in delivering technical instruction or customer service

    Experience, training, or interest in critical literacies such as data, media, privacy

    Background in engineering, computer science and/or health sciences an asset

  5. Duties:

    The successful candidate will support a dedicated project to design and deliver a new 3D design and scanning service in collaboration with librarians and staff at the Gerstein + MADLab 3D printing service.

    The student will draw on their technical and communication skills and/or experience to develop and deliver 3D design and scanning workshops and course-specific integration and support for U of T students, faculty and staff. Other duties will include providing on-site assistance and technical support for 3D printing service users, operating and troubleshooting hardware and software; participating in outreach and promotional activities, and working closely with students and faculty, librarians and MADLab staff on related activities as needed.

    This position will require in-person work on campus during office hours (9-5 Mon-Fri).
