  4. Qualifications:

    • University of Toronto graduate student in the archives stream of the Faculty of Information with a demonstrated knowledge of archival principles and descriptive standards. Previous work or course-based experience arranging and describing archival materials is desired.
    • Ability to do detailed work with speed and accuracy with minimal supervision.
    • Demonstrated good attendance and work performance record.
    • A strong orientation towards supportive public service.
    • Excellent written and spoken communications skills.
    • Technical skills including word processing, database, and spreadsheets.

  5. Duties:

    Under guidance of the Fisher Archivist, the successful applicant will assist with archival projects including the arrangement, description, and processing of Canadian literary and historical collections.

    Duties will include processing archival materials and creating finding aids in accordance with archival standards. Additional responsibilities include providing public service and reference support via scheduled shifts at the reference desk, reading room, and information desk. The incumbent will also assist with retyping finding aids into web accessible formats, and general archival maintenance including labelling and rehousing materials.
