* Experience or familiarity with research data;
* Experience working with metadata standards and/or XML records, repositories, catalogues, etc.;
* Successfully completed or enrolled in courses related to digital scholarship, open access, open code, digital repositories, and/ or, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, research data management and research methods, information systems
* Experience with customer service and data quality assurance processes
* Basic knowledge of file management systems
* Experience or familiarity with multimedia training and content creation
* French language communication skills -
Duties:
Duties
* Work with the Borealis and Data Services team at Scholars Portal to support ongoing data repository projects, including developing and maintaining guides and training resources, providing end-user support, updating data collections and contributing to ongoing development projects.
* Supports Borealis and Scholars Portal’s Data Services teams in creating, testing, editing, and maintaining repository and dataset access, including metadata and data collections curation and user support, digital preservation projects, and ongoing repository support.
* Attends weekly meetings with the Borealis & SP staff
* Keeps detailed notes and records of work accomplished and communicates regularly with supervisors.About Borealis, Odesi, and Scholars GeoPortal
Borealis (https://borealisdata.ca), the Canadian Dataverse Repository, is a national research data repository provided by academic libraries and partners.
Odesi (https://odesi.ca), provides open access to Statistics Canada Public use microdata for national surveys, and, Canadian Public Opinion Polling Data Collections from across Canadian institutions.
Scholars GeoPortal (https://geo.scholarsportal.info), is a geospatial data repository and map-based exploration tool provided by Ontario academic libraries to support researchers with finding, using, and accessing Canadian geospatial data.
