  4. Qualifications:

    Required qualifications:

    · Must be a University of Toronto Graduate Student

    · Curiosity and interest related to artificial intelligence and its role within higher education

    · Strong desire to learn about AI, machine learning, automations, and data-driven technologies, and their applications in library and information services

    · Strong desire to learn about licensing and copyright issues in scholarly communications

    · Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with an aptitude for detail-oriented work

    · Excellent oral, written, and web-based communication skills

    · Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

    · Ability to manage workflow, projects, and multiple tasks while meeting deadlines

    · Ability to work both independently and part of a team

    Preferred Qualifications:

    · Basic proficiency in web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL)

    · Familiarity with AI tools, large language models, or machine learning concepts, even at an introductory level

  5. Duties:

    The successful candidate will support the AI-Readiness Librarian in managing the AI-Ready Library Collections Projects, a cross-functional, collaborative initiative exploring how library collections can support emerging AI-enabled research and discovery. The role is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in AI, change management, organizational readiness, user experience, digital scholarship, or scholarly communication. The successful candidate is required to:

    · Support the AI Readiness Librarian in the development and implementation of coordination structures such as forums, shared tracking tools, and reporting processes for the AI Ready Collections projects

    · Assist in tracking projects progress and maintaining an understanding of activities across subgroups, individuals, and library units

    · Assist in facilitating information flow among project participants, library leadership, and institutional and stakeholders, including preparing briefings, updates and fielding information requests

    · Help identify gaps, overlaps, and document recommendations to support the next steps for the AI Ready Collections Projects

    · Attend and present project updates and findings to library committees as opportunities arise

    · Other duties as assigned

  6. Hours per Week:
    15 hours per week, to be scheduled Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
