Position:Student Library Assistant (SLA)

Qualifications:
A University of Toronto student (enrolled for Fall 2026) with a strong service orientation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with the public and other staff members.
Previous experience in circulation service or customer service are assets. Demonstrated good work performance, attendance, and punctuality.
Ability to work with an automated system, MS Office apps, keyboarding and basic equipment troubleshooting skills (photocopiers, printers, scanners, and computers).

Duties:
Providing friendly, front-line customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Helping library users sign out, renew, and return materials. Sorting and shelving library materials.
Assisting users with quick catalogue questions and directions; assisting users in-person and over the telephone with questions related to library services.
Assisting with photocopying, printing, and scanning; troubleshooting wi-fi and other basic tech issues.
Opening and closing procedures for the library. Other duties as assigned.
The successful applicant will be required to work on-site (St. George Campus). Existing Vacancy: YES

Hours per Week:SLAs (student library assistants) work between 4-12+ hours/week (24 hours maximum), depending on operational needs and student availability.
